Sammy D Foundation - SA

Sammy D Foundation ran its fundraising and volunteering programs on Salesforce NPSP. Over the years, the org had accumulated the kind of complexity that most long-standing NPSP customers will recognise:
The result was a system that cost more to maintain every year and delivered less back to the team. Nonprofit Cloud was the obvious destination. The migration itself was the blocker.
Moving to Nonprofit Cloud is not a data load. Done by hand, the work looks like this:
For this org, that path was estimated at four to five months. The hardest part sits right at the end: validating the migrated data, the custom field configuration, the page layouts and the standard picklist value sets on every object. That validation step is where manual migrations quietly go wrong.
We built the NPC Migration Agent to take the manual mapping layer out of an NPSP to Nonprofit Cloud migration. On this project it reduced the timeline from four to five months down to six weeks.
We start by identifying every record, custom object and custom field that needs to move, along with how each NPSP field maps to its Nonprofit Cloud standard object. That analysis becomes a migration file, and the migration file is what the agent runs on.
The agent authenticates against both the source and target orgs, pulls the data and metadata from the source, and begins the migration into the target. Standard NPSP fields and object records are identified and mapped to their Nonprofit Cloud equivalents automatically, record types included, so every record lands on the correct record type.
Recurring donations and opportunities carrying multiple payments migrate as gift commitments, using the standard Nonprofit Cloud method, with gift commitment schedules and transaction records created and linked back to the correct commitment. Open opportunities, and any record type the client chooses to keep as an opportunity, migrate as they are.
The agent counts the household contacts on each account. Where only one contact exists, that record migrates as a person account, clearing out duplication the organisation had been carrying for years.
We configured a Donor 360 view so that everything about a supporter sits on a single person account page: the fundraising timeline, interest tags for tagging individual supporters, and a donor summary component showing the full giving history. A scheduled data processing engine keeps each person account current with first and last donation, best donation, and the number of gift transaction and gift commitment records.
The same agent migrated the volunteer program. It identifies the records, builds the relationships, migrates skills as competency records linked to each contact through person competency, and auto-creates job position assignments from the existing NPSP volunteer data.
Sammy D Foundation is now live on Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, migrated from NPSP in six weeks rather than four to five months. The move delivered:
NPSP is not receiving new features, and every month spent on it adds more custom configuration to unwind later. The question for most nonprofits is no longer whether to move to Nonprofit Cloud, but how to get there without losing a quarter of the year to the migration.
If you would like to see what the NPC Migration Agent would do with your org, we are happy to walk you through an org analysis and a mapping plan.
"Moving from NPSP to Nonprofit Cloud felt like a multi-month project waiting to happen. Zenyus and the NPC Migration Agent got us there in six weeks — with our fundraising and volunteer data intact, a real Donor 360, and far less of the manual mapping we were dreading. We can finally run on the platform that matches where our organisation is going."
